How I Built Diamond City from the Ground Up
By MD Siddiqur Rahman, Founder of Diamond City
Twenty-five years ago, I arrived in Maryland, USA, with little more than a dream and an unwavering passion for jewelry.
As an immigrant from Bangladesh, I was driven by the belief that with hard work, creativity, and the right people beside me, I could build something extraordinary.
Today, I am proud to say that Diamond City stands as a multi-million dollar wholesale jewelry brand, competing with some of the biggest names in the industry and operating in five countries worldwide.
Discovering a Passion for Jewelry
My love for jewelry started long before I set foot in the United States. Back in Bangladesh, I was fascinated by the artistry of handcrafted pieces—the delicate balance between tradition and innovation.
Jewelry, to me, was never just about sparkle. It was about craftsmanship, culture, and confidence. When I moved to the U.S., I carried that passion with me, determined to turn it into a lifelong pursuit.
The Birth of a Vision
Like most entrepreneurs, I started small. Alongside a trusted friend who became my business partner, we began selling a limited selection of jewelry items to local communities.
Our first customers were friends, neighbors, and small stores. Every sale, no matter how small, brought us closer to our vision. We named our company Diamond City, inspired by the idea of building a brand as timeless and valuable as the stones we sell.
Growing a Business Without Compromise
Scaling the business was no easy feat. We faced challenges—fierce competition, sourcing quality materials, and managing logistics across borders. But instead of taking shortcuts, we focused on doing things right:
- Quality First: We worked with trusted suppliers and artisans to ensure every piece met our standards.
- Global Expansion: We gradually expanded into five countries, learning each market’s preferences and adapting our designs.
- Customer Trust: Whether serving an individual client or a large retailer, we built relationships based on honesty and consistency.
Today, Diamond City operates multiple branches in Maryland, supported by a strong, passionate team. We compete confidently with five of the biggest jewelry companies in the industry—not because we’re the loudest, but because we care deeply about quality and connection.

At Diamond City, every piece has a story—just like mine. We offer more than just beautiful rings, bracelets, grillz, and watches. We offer art that celebrates moments, milestones, and identities.
From moissanite masterpieces to custom-designed grillz, our catalog reflects a blend of luxury and authenticity, serving clients across different cultures, countries, and styles.
Looking Ahead
As I look to the future, my mission remains clear: to grow Diamond City with heart and purpose. I want our brand to be known not just for what we sell, but for the way we make people feel—confident, elegant, and proud of who they are.
To every customer, supplier, and team member who’s been part of this journey—thank you. We’ve come a long way, and the best is yet to come.
